Project Explanation
In a bold move, The House of Yoga based in Putney expanded from a single studio to a double studio complex with a whole new basement facility. The team from THoY contacted us to commission a new reception area as they felt the existing space was inferior in comparison to the new upgrades which they had made to the building.
Yoga, being a practice that is close to our hearts helped us to develop a concept that would be bold and expressive yet still playful and fun. We wanted to represent the energy and angular flexibility of the discipline while still retaining highly functionality of the space and match the existing shades of red colors.
The reception area was intended to be a mostly open-plan space and solutions for storage and a more comfortable double-seated work area were integrated into the desk to declutter the space while the vivid angular shelving and storage units added drama and reinforced the sense of balance.
